Current status of project: We are describing our final design, spinning out software, and using Designsafe

Work completed in the last week:

Almost done with DesignSafe for mitigating hazards for regular use (1 of 2 tasks) of our device

Finished describing electronic parts, finalizing circuit-board placement for printing

Assigned tasks for mechanical and software finalization

Work planned for next week:

Implement the flow chart in Java, eclipse

Finalize circuit design

Aything needed from client or TA or instructor to continue work:

1.       A meeting with Dr. Anastasio to confirm the final project requirements for our mixed hardware/software design, especially when the software needs input to run! (holdover from last week) I.e. what do we have to have working? We can in theory run the software from a laptop, since none of us own smartphones. However, since we don’t have microphones, can we just use looped pseudo-noise as input?

2.       Question: we are supporting a research project that will have <100 subjects. How should we address “mass-production” costs?

Current status of project: We are choosing and describing components of our final design

Work completed in the last week:

Electronic components selected, described, and enumerated

Researching parts and material choices for mechanical component

Started on coding

Work planned for next week:

Finish mechanical component selection and description

Work heavily on coding

Anything needed from client or TA or instructor to continue work:

A meeting with Dr. Anastasio to confirm the final project requirements for our mixed hardware/software design, especially when the software needs input to run

Current status of project: We are currently researching specific details of our proposed design

Work completed in the last week:

We finished our progress report

We discussed future directions that we will need to pursue and how to approach them

Work planned for next week:

Continue looking up more detailed design specs: headphone types and materials, equipment attachment, software developement
